Laser Therapy

At Prime Sports Med, we use a 20-watt Class IV laser from Aspen Lasers as a non-invasive treatment option for pain and soft tissue injuries. During treatment, the laser handpiece is moved over the affected area, delivering therapeutic light to the targeted tissues. Laser therapy may help support circulation, reduce discomfort and inflammation, and promote the body’s natural recovery processes.

Hyperice Heat and Vibration

Therapeutic heat can help relax muscles, reduce stiffness, and improve comfort. When combined with vibration, heat can help warm and loosen sore or tight muscles, making this therapy useful for warm-ups, recovery, and areas of muscle or joint stiffness.

Therapeutic Exercise & Instruction

Therapeutic exercise and instruction are used to improve strength, flexibility, mobility, balance, and overall function. Our providers can teach you specific exercises based on your needs and goals, along with proper techniques to help you perform them safely and effectively both in the clinic and at home.

Rocktape

RockTape is a specialized form of kinesiology taping designed to support movement and provide additional support to muscles and joints. Its flexible design allows for a full range of motion, making it useful for athletes and active individuals during rehabilitation, activity, or training.

Percussion Therapy

Percussion massage uses targeted pulses of pressure to the muscles and soft tissues. It can help reduce muscle tension, soreness, and stiffness while supporting mobility and range of motion. Percussive therapy can be used to target both superficial and deeper muscle tissue.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)

EMS uses gentle electrical impulses delivered through pads placed on the skin to stimulate muscle contractions. It can be used as part of rehabilitation to support muscle activation, strength, and recovery following injury or periods of limited activity. EMS may also be incorporated into training and recovery for athletes and active individuals.

Cupping Therapy

Our providers use soft, flexible silicone cups to create gentle suction on the skin. Cupping can be used to address areas of muscle tension and soft tissue restriction and may help improve mobility and promote relaxation. We offer both static cupping, where cups remain in place, and dynamic cupping, where cups are moved across the skin. Temporary red or purple marks are common after treatment and typically fade within a few days.

Scraping Therapy

Scraping therapy is a manual soft tissue technique that uses specialized tools to gently work targeted areas of the skin and underlying tissues. This technique can be used to address areas of soft tissue restriction, muscle tension, and adhesions. Some mild bruising or red/purple discoloration, known as petechiae, may occur following treatment and typically fades within a few days.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a safe and effective technique for managing certain musculoskeletal disorders. At Prime Sports Med, dry needling is performed by certified therapists and is a minimally discomforting procedure. During the treatment, a thin monofilament needle is used to penetrate the skin and target underlying muscular trigger points or knots to alleviate neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments. It is called “dry” because it does not involve injecting fluid into the body.

What is laser therapy and how is it performed?

At Prime Sports Med, we use a 20 watt Class 4 Laser from Aspen Lasers. Treatments are performed by positioning the laser handpiece approximately ½” directly above the skin and surrounding the area of injury and pain with the laser treatment beam. With a repetitive sweeping motion, photons of laser light penetrate the skin and underlying tissue and are absorbed by the cells that convert them into energy.

How is myofascial release performed?

Myofascial release is a hands-on technique that uses gentle, sustained pressure to address areas of tension and restriction in the body’s connective tissue. The technique is performed directly on the skin, typically without oils or creams, allowing the provider to work precisely on areas of restriction and help improve mobility and reduce discomfort.

What are the benefits of Rocktape?

We use RockTape for its durability and effectiveness in treating both sports and everyday injuries like shin splints, plantar fasciitis, runner’s knee, and back pain. By gently lifting the skin, RockTape helps reduce swelling, improve circulation, delay fatigue, and support proper muscle function—all while allowing full range of motion.

Can I use insurance for sports therapy?

Many insurance plans cover sports therapy services under physical therapy or rehabilitation benefits. Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm your specific benefits.

If you have questions about coverage or billing, our front desk team can also help clarify what services may be billed to insurance. Please note that RockTape and laser therapy cannot be billed to insurance and have additional charges.

I spent about 5 min doing paperwork and was taken back immediately after to a room where I waited maybe 8-10min before doc came in and did his snap crackle pop magic on me. 🎩 🪄 I have no health insurance currently and the pricing was MORE than fair for the service/treatment I received. I paid $115 for a 1st time visit with the chiropractor. I called and received an appointment same day forgot to mention that earlier. Will return for further treatment and for any other issues as they informed me they also have massage therapy and physical therapy as well. The doc was nice AF and did a great job 👏 I left with clear instructions on continuing care whether I was going to keep seeing them or not come back.
